The University of Liverpool offers a fixed fee guarantee for all full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students from outside the European Union (EU) (except those studying Medicine or Dentistry). Calling Home

You will probably want to keep in regular contact with family and friends back home. There are lots of options to make cheap calls from either a landline (in your accommodation) or from a mobile (cell) phone. However, international phone calls can be very expensive so ensure you compare the best deals from different networks to find the one that best meets your needs.

Popular networks in the UK include;

O2, Vodafone, EE and Virgin.

You should also check call rates offered by networks such as Nomi, Lyca and Lebara who specialise in international calls.

Accommodation Breakdown

International Students

Living in the University’s accommodation is a good idea if you are going to study there as an international student. The residences are friendly places to live, offer excellent accommodation and will make it easier for you to settle in to studying in the UK. The University’s international support team runs a welcome programme each year which covers all the basics of living in the UK. This includes talks on UK life, campus tours and help with tasks such as opening a bank account or registering with a doctor, as well as social events. University room rents cover your private study bedroom, utility bills, insurance for your belongings, broadband and use of communal areas.

First year student accommodation Make the right start.  The students go there to study but there is a lot more to University life. The best way to discover and enjoy it is to start off in the residences. If you are a new undergraduate student, they guarantee to find you a place in University accommodation

if;

  • You have chosen the University of Liverpool as your 1st “Firm” choice & you have accepted an Unconditional Firm offer (UF) or a Conditional Firm offer (CF)
  • You apply for your accommodation no later than 31st July.

We recommend that you apply as soon as you receive your invitation email from the accommodation office. They are usually able to offer either University or University approved accommodation to the majority of students who have placed the University of Liverpool as their Insurance choice (CI) or students who come to the University through Clearing although they cannot guarantee your accommodation. They prioritise the allocation of rooms to students on the following basis;

  • Students who accept an unconditional “Firm” offer and are not result dependant (UF)
  • Students who put University of Liverpool as their “Firm” (1st) choice who will receive their examination results in August (CF)
  • Students who have University of Liverpool as their “Insurance” (2nd) choice (CI)
  • Students who come to the University through “Clearing”
  • Please ensure that you complete your application for accommodation as soon as possible because the date you apply is also taken into consideration*

Postgraduate Accommodation

Campus accommodation for postgraduate students. They guarantee first year international postgraduate students University’s accommodation on campus provided they apply no later than July 31st. Generally they can also accommodate first year home and EU postgraduate students. Postgraduate accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis with single-occupancy private rooms (some en suite). If you rent a room you will be sharing facilities i.e. Kitchens with other residents. Find out about joining the Residential Advisor Team as it’s a great way to enhance your experience and studies whilst reducing your living costs.
